Luke, Luke Bond
Hey mommy, you know who I am like???
No, honey who are you like?
James Bond.
Oh yeah? Why?
Because he likes his milk shaken, not stirred.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
How To
John had a project for class. They had to come up with a food item and then write instructions on how to make it. They brought their papers home and had to execute the item exactly according to the directions they’d written. Parents were supposed to help edit them. We had a blast with John’s first draft. John chose to make tacos. I wish I had the first draft so you could compare them but we basically took a taco shell and poured all the beef on top then all the lettuce, all the salsa, and so on. It was like Amelia Bedelia in our kitchen taking everything VERY literally. He realized he needed to be more specific. Here’s the final draft as written by John. Enjoy!
Tacos
Mexican tacos are really good and fun to make.
To make tacos you will need
Sour cream
1 taco shell
Salsa
Lettuce
Cheese
Cooked beef
After you have all the ingredients you are ready too make tacos.
First put a spoon full of beef in the taco shell. Then put a spoon full of sour cream in the taco shell and spread it evenly. Next put a little salsa in the taco shell. Finally add a little shredded cheese and lettuce. Now you are done.
Then serve on a plate with a side of beans, rice or other Mexican sides. Then pray and chow down.

breast feeding
Oh yes, I said breast in a family blog post. Now that I’ve cleared all the men from the room…. I know it’s been a while since I have posted but I am here at long last. A little tired and worn and definitely chewed, gnawed and sore. Why isn’t nursing the beautiful magical thing that all the movies portray? Why isn’t it the simplest and easiest thing to do since that’s what babies were meant to survive on long before we had access to supplemental formulas and such? Why are babies so clueless as to what they’re doing even after 4 weeks of long hard lessons? This has definitely been a challenge and one I happily take on since the other boys were unable to nurse successfully. But oye the pain and the late nights because Fred can’t help. Noah is a great baby, don’t get me wrong. When he has a full belly he’ll sleep 5 hours and wake up once or twice in the night. When he’s awake, normally he’s very chill and peaceful looking at his surroundings and taking it all in. He’s an absolutely amazing little man. I’ll be happy when we get past the pain of all this and when it doesn’t take four thousand hours for him to complete one feeding and then wait 15 minutes until it’s time to begin again. I’m amazed I’ve managed to keep the other two fed and bathed and happy in the scant few minutes I have between feedings, let along getting myself showered and fed. Oh the joys of motherhood.
